Everyone has an opinion.
But, not everyone is right.
We tend to see things from our perspective, our experiences, our environment. As humans we are flawed, imperfect. Although we were created in the image of God, we have fallen so much, and are capable of such despicable acts. We hear of and see people doing horrible things against others, lying, cheating, stealing….on and on. Do we stop to think that could be us….or…maybe that once was us?
The bottom line is….we need a Saviour. Someone to save us from ourselves and the sin that does so easily beset us and wants to consume us and rule us. The truth is, we cannot change anyone but ourselves, and, in doing that, we need all of God’s help we can get. The Bible tells us to put the word of God in our hearts so that we don’t sin against God. The word….the living word that became flesh and dwelt among us…now is in us as the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost fire… to burn in us… burn away all the impurities and refine us once again back into His image. The word that changes us…our hearts, our minds, our deeds, our words.
So… what if…
We looked at things and others the way God looks at them? Through eyes of and with a heart of total, unconditional love. Hating the sin… loving the sinner.
Everyone obeyed just two principles of the word of God?
1. Love God. Love our neighbour as ourself. Love one another… with pure hearts fervently.
What if… we would do unto others as we would have them do unto us? Sounds simple… easy to say, but so much harder to do.
What if… we weren’t so quick to judge others and their situations and circumstances?
What if…we took the beam out of our eye instead of trying to take the mote out of others’ eyes?
You get my point!
I know, as Christians, most of us are trying. Really trying to please the Lord and do His will.
Don’t give up, don’t give out, don’t give in.
Let's continue (or start) to let God search our hearts every day.
To strive to please Him above everything.
To give Him our best…our all.
To walk in the fear and the favour of the Lord.
Because… what if…this would be the day the Lord would return for His Church…His Bride?
What if…this would be the day He would call us home?
What if...this would be the day we would hear Him say “Well done, my good and faithful servant!”
