Seeing God

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

JESUS makes it quite clear that without a pure heart there is no way for us to see GOD but since GOD is a Spirit how can we actually see HIM?

King David made this plea to GOD in Psalm 51:10 ’Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

When a man’s heart is not clean he cannot see or discern GOD but when his heart is clean he will say like David in Psalm 103 ‘Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

Another example of being able to discern the presence of GOD is found in John 21: 7Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.

After JESUS had risen from the dead the disciples had gone fishing, then HE appeared in a different form that the disciples didn’t notice at first but after it was John who recognized it was JESUS.

Sometimes we are so consumed with what we are doing we don’t recognize that JESUS is right where we are. We need to pray to GOD as David did that, we might have a clean heart to give HIM praise and that we will see HIM working in our everyday lives.
