Greetings to our Church Family and Friends,
At this time we are unaware of, and thankful, that there are no problems in our congregation with the COVID-19. While it’s not yet mandatory, it is advisable to be suspending or cancelling events of gatherings or large crowds. As a precaution following health directives, the government restrictions, social concerns and to protect the health and safety of the community from the spread of COVID-19, we are cancelling all gatherings at Spirit of Pentecost at least until Saturday, March 21, 2020. Please know it is not out of fear, but rather our responsibility to the public and our church families, that we are making this decision. Spirit of Pentecost sincerely regards everyone’s health and safety. We will continue to monitor the situation and hopefully will be able to know more by the end of next week. This is an unusual event that we pray will pass quickly. In the meantime, we are launching an SOP app that will give you the ability to listen in to sermons and teachings, as well as possible announcements and updates going forward, even beyond this present virus concern. Bethany will text the app information to all who are on our text contacts. If you aren’t signed up for text notifications at this time, please text “SOP” to 69922.
Pastor Heard encourages us to keep in prayer and not to lose our focus. “We got it! We won’t lose it!” (Our 2020 “Build My House” ).
READ Psalm 91:2-14 for courage in God!
“God alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I am trusting him. For he rescues you from every trap and protects you from the fatal plague. He will shield you with his wings! They will shelter you. His faithful promises are your armour. Now you don’t need to be afraid of the dark anymore, nor fear the dangers of the day; nor dread the plagues of darkness, nor disasters in the morning. Though a thousand fall at my side, though ten thousand are dying around me, the evil will not touch me. I will see how the wicked are punished, but I will not share it. For Jehovah is my refuge! I choose the God above all gods to shelter me. How then can evil overtake me or any plague come near? For he orders his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will steady you with their hands to keep you from stumbling against the rocks on the trail. You can safely meet a lion or step on poisonous snakes, yes, even trample them beneath your feet! For the Lord says, “Because he loves me, I will rescue him; I will make him great because he trusts in my name. When he calls on me, I will answer; I will be with him in trouble and rescue him and honour him. I will satisfy him with a full life and give him my salvation.” TLB
Please download the app and continue to watch our texts, website and social media for updates.
Please remember to stay rooted in Prayer and the Word even though we cannot gather together during these uncertain times.
