Building An Altar At Home

Exodus 17:15

“And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi…”

Before there ever was a tent, a temple, a synagogue, and yes, even a church, we read that the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Upon bringing to completion His master work, Adam and Eve could hear the voice of their Creator walking in the garden in the cool of the day.

This, my brethren, is the unhindered presence that God desires us to tap into on a daily basis.

You may wonder, how can this be when our churches are closed down? Over time we have come to believe that the church is limited to the four walls of a building but the very Word shows us that God does not dwell in temples made by man alone.

We are the church of the Living God and the Kingdom of God is within us. In spite of being socially separated, we are not spiritually divided.

Child of God, this is a gentle reminder that although we are unable to come together during these trying and challenging times we still have unrestricted access to the throne of the Almighty God. Be of good cheer and take this time as an opportunity to build an altar of prayer, praise and worship in the comfort of your own homes. God is still in control and is fighting for His people. Let God be the centre of both our church buildings AND of the intimate settings of our family units.

God bless you,

Crystal Robinson
